Sachin Pilagaonkar is a popular face of the Indian Television Industry. He has acted in a considerable number of Hindi, Marathi and Bhojpuri films. He has also directed and produced a number of successful comedy shows on Indian television.

 

Sachin Pilgaonkar began his filmy career at a very young age of four years, where he played the role of the child artist in the Marathi move-Ha Maza Marg Ekla. As a child actor, he has featured in many movies such as Dharmendra-Meena Kumari starrer an emotional drama 'Majhli Didi' and also played a part in prominent films such as Chanda Aur Bijli, Jewel Thief, Sholay and Mela.

 

He then grew old and made his official adult debut with Rajshri Productions' Geet Gaata Chal in the year 1975 with a small role. Since then he starred in over 60 films including Hindi and Marathi. Sachin tried his hands at Direction by directing Marathi films from early 1980s. His directorial debut was with the film Mai Baap in 1982 which was a semi hit but garnered critical acclaim. He soon tasted success with 1984 release Navri Mile Navryala. Following which he directed movies like Maza Pati Karodpati and Gammat Jammat. Thus made a place for himself in the Marathi film industry. Among all the films that he did, his film Nadiya Ke Paar need a special mention.

 

Sachin Pilgaonkar is also a celebrated and respected name of the Indian Television Industry. His direction has given new meanings to the Television and comic shows on the TV.
