He is an Indian Film Actor, Film Producer, Television Presenter & Architect who is well-known for his work in Bollywood as well as Marathi cinema. He is the son of Vilasrao Deshmukh, the 14th Chief Minister of Maharashtra.

Ritesh was born in the village of Latur. Former Union Heavy Industry and Science and Technology Minister and former Chief Minister of Maharashtra late Mr. He is the second son of Vilasrao Deshmukh and Vaishali Deshmukh. Ritesh's elder brother Amit Deshmukh is former Minister of State and former MLA of Latur city; and younger brother, Dhiraj Deshmukh, is a member of Latur Youth Congress President and Zilla Parishad member. Ritesh has a school education in Latur, and his college education has been done at JD Somani Memorial School. He got the title of Architect from Kamala Raheja College, Mumbai. Ritesh chose Genelia D'Souza as the life partner of this film, and in 2012, he married Genelia, according to both Hindu and Christian customs.
Deshmukh started his filmy journey from his debutant film in 2003 releasing “Tujhe Meri Kasam" along with the co-star "Genelia D'Souza."Also, his second film was "Out of Control" which could not do well at the box office. Moreover, from his first two debutant films, Ritesh did not create any magic with his acting. He appeared in his career third film "Masti," but his role in the movie was discredited, Despite, all the Speculation, was being made, the film worked very well at the box office.
After the film Masti, the film producers acknowledged his acting, and he had started grabbing some good narrated and scripted movies. His career first commercially hit film was "Kyaa Kool Hai Hum" along with "Tusshar Kapoor" a (sex-comedy) film that worked as the supporting pillar for Ritesh's swaying career in the film industry. In the subsequent years, he has appeared in many commercially hit movies such as Heyy Babyy, Dhamaal, Kya Kool Hai Hum, Malamaal Weekly, Housefull, Bluffmaster!, Housefull 2, Ek Villain, Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya, Housefull 3, and Grand Masti. In the year 2013, he launched his production house under the name of "Mumbai Film Company."His first film as a producer under his production banner was "Balak Palak," and this film was rated as the successful film at the Marathi box office. The following year, he made his debut in Marathi cinema with the film "Lai Bhaari" an action movie. His recent Bollywood films include Housefull 4 and Marjavan.
