His plays touch the most sensitive issues of the society like domestic violence, injustice, social discrimination, racism, marginalism, communalism etc. Arvind made his play debut by Bhisham Sahni's Hanoosh in 1993. Initially, his plays were based on classics such as Julius Caesar, Tughlaq, Andha Yug and his play Tughlaq was also honored with Sahitya Kala Parishad "the best play of the year 1994". Among his major directions, some of the plays are Mahesh Bhatt's The Last Salute, Bharatendu Harishchandra's Andher Nagri, Ashok Lal's Ek Mamooli Aadmi, Dr. Narendra Mohan's Kalandar & Mr.Jinnah.
